About Library

The University Library is named after its first Chancellor, Mahamahopadhyaya Sri Pattabhirama Sastri. The Library has a rich and valuable collection of approximately 1,35,019 books as of 24.07.2026, along with more than 6,000 manuscripts in various languages, including Sanskrit, Telugu, Grantha, and Tamil, written in scripts such as Devanagari, Grantha, Telugu, Kannada, Tigalari, and others. The Library comprises several sections, namely Circulation, Periodicals, Manuscripts, Reference, Acquisition, Stack, and Technical Services. At present, the Library subscribes to around 72 periodicals, and a large number of back volumes have been systematically preserved for the benefit of students, scholars, researchers, and faculty members. The Library is also a member of the INFLIBNET Centre, facilitating access to scholarly information and bibliographic resources related to Sanskrit studies and enabling the dissemination of information about Sanskrit scholars at the national and international levels. The Library provides access to a wide range of online scholarly resources through the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative and JSTOR. These electronic resources enable users to access a vast collection of national and international journals, research publications, and academic materials, thereby supporting teaching, learning, and advanced research in Sanskrit and allied disciplines. Through these digital and networking facilities, the Library aims to provide seamless access to knowledge resources for students, faculty members, researchers, and scholars..
